Eli Lilly and Company-Elanco Research Award

The Eli Lilly and Company-Elanco Research Award is a science award given annually by the American Society for Microbiology and sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company and its daughter Elanco .

The prize was first awarded in 1936 and is endowed with USD 5,000 (as of 2011). It honors young scientists before the age of 45. The research achievements should not be compared with those of more experienced scientists, but originality and independent thinking should be encouraged.
