Elias Freitas

Elias Freitas , fighting name Makikit ( Tetum for hawk or eagle), is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of FRETILIN .

Freitas was deputy commander of a company in the war of liberation against Indonesia , for which he was awarded the Ordem das Falintil in 2006.

In the elections for the Constituent Assembly on August 30, 2001 , Freitas won the direct mandate of the Baucau district with 85.97% of the vote.

With the independence of East Timor on May 20, 2002 , the assembly became a national parliament and a member of Freitas. Here he was a member of Commission G (Commission for Infrastructure).

In the new elections in June 2007 , Freitas did not run.
