Elina Tissen (* 19th July 1986 in Orenburg , Russian SFSR ) is a German professional boxer and world champion of associations WIBF , GBU and GBC, in several part weight classes .

Life

Born in the former Soviet Union , moved Elina Tissen at the age of 12 years with her parents to Germany. They settled in Warendorf near Münster , where Elina completed training as a kindergarten teacher and took on German citizenship .

In 2005, the boxing trainer Maiki Hundt noticed her fast footwork during a dance training and he asked her about her disposition to be a boxer. She then did a trial training session and found pleasure in the sport. In 2006 she made her professional debut and two years later became world champion. In 2009, her career appeared to be in jeopardy because of the recurring stress asthma; after the vocal cords were identified as the source of the problem, treatment was successful.

Elina Tissen holds world championship titles in super bantamweight, super featherweight and featherweight, the latter she defended in June 2013 in Essen against the Austrian Doris Köhler. On May 18, 2018, Elina Tissen beat her challenger Nina Meinke (Berlin) in a 10-round fight on points. She remains unbeaten as world champion.
