Elio Crovetto (born December 6, 1926 in Milan , † November 8, 2000 in Genoa ) was an Italian actor .

Life

After completing his technical studies at the “Institut Vittorio Emmanuele” in Genoa, Crovetto began a career as a revue actor in Trieste and then as a theater actor in mainly comedic works and revues alongside stars such as Ugo Tognazzi , Walter Chiari , Erminio Macario and the Nava sisters. He was mainly active in the city where he was born and where he later died. In 1957 he appeared in the former alongside Josephine Baker .

For the film he was (after a first excursion in 1949) mainly active from the end of the 1950s to the beginning of the 1980s; here, too, he concentrated on comical character representations. His last engagement as an actor was in 1990 in the series Villa Arzilla, one of his rare but varied trips to television. He then staged a call-in show for a private broadcaster and appeared on stage again in 1991 in dialect comedies by Gilberto Govi under Sandro Massimini's direction . In 1973 he was part of the theater company around Carlo Dapporto , which primarily performed dialect comedies by Gilberto Govi.
