Terror in Oklahoma (original title: Il terrore dell'Oklahoma ) is an Italian western comedy from 1959. The film directed by Mario Amendola with Maurizio Arena in the leading role was first shown in German-speaking cinemas on December 2, 1960.

action

The actually peaceful town of Rio Placido is haunted one day by a gang of outlaws who have learned of a gold mine in the vicinity and are now doing everything possible to get the good residents of the place to leave by means of harassment and threats, violence and terror. However, these employ the famous horrors of Oklahoma for their defense and to fight the bandits. Clay Norton's courage, however, is in stark contrast to his fame; The hoped-for support from the fearful local sheriff is also omitted. Clay can only drive away the bandits and restore calm in Rio Placido with the help of a Quaker family that has thrown the principle of non-violence overboard.

criticism

Mediocre reviews for the parody of American westerns everywhere: The lexicon of international films saw "(a) a moderately exhilarating western parody with comical exaggeration of the fight, dance and pub scenes usual in the genre", the Segnalazioni Cinamtografiche a "modest work with average performance the actor and director. "

Remarks

The box office success in Italy was also limited with 127 million lire , as it was initially only available in a few Italian cities.

The song heard in the film is called Favoloso Far West .
