Alfredo Rizzo (born January 2, 1902 in Nice , France , † September 6, 1991 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Rizzo's career began on vaudeville stages, where he performed variety numbers with his brother Carlo and other greats of the golden age such as Erminio Macario and Renato Rascel of this art form (which lasted from around 1930 to 1945). The brothers were the heads of one of the most sought-after ensembles from 1937 to 1947. Rizzo played his first film role for Mario Mattòlis Lo vedi come sei… lo vedo come sei? in 1939. In the period after the Second World War, his appearances in films intensified, where he almost always took on the role of villain in both dramas and comedies. In 1960, again with his brother Carlo, he founded his own stage ensemble (the “Compagnia Fratelli Rizzo- Franca Volpi ”), but remained connected to the cinema in many roles. He later wrote screenplays and directed mostly erotic comedies, which he wrote with co-authors such as Mario Amendola , Roberto Mauri and Bruno Corbucci . Artistically more important works are also on the list of his films; so Federico Fellini used it four times. Rizzo acted under the Anglicised names Alfred Rice or Fred Ritz in several of the productions that were based on pure commercialism . He played his last role for television in 1986.
