Roberto Mauri

Roberto Mauri (* 1924 in Castelvetrano ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Mauri, who as an actor had shot his first minor role in a feature film in 1944 after two short films and appeared in smaller films from 1952 - he played a rare leading role in Gianfranco Parolini's François il contrabbandiere 1953 - devoted himself to a script for Ferdinando Merighi from 1958 directed and staged the vampire film The Vampire's Revenge in the early 1960s . The sandal film The Fall of the Leopard Empire , agent films and some spaghetti westerns followed ; his films were mostly cheaply produced for quick consumption and so hardly stuck in the mind.

In some films he used the pseudonyms Robert Johnson or Robert Morris .
