Gianfranco Parolini
Gianfranco Parolini (born February 20, 1925 in Rome ; † April 26, 2018 there ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .
Life
Parolini, who comes from a Bolognese family, began working in the film business in 1950 as an assistant editor for Roberto Rossellini's Francis, the juggler of God . He appeared as a director, screenwriter and film producer and was best known as a director of spaghetti westerns. Among other things, he shot the successful Sabata series. In addition to westerns, Parolini mainly worked on sandals and crime films . In the late 1960s, for example, he also directed four of the Kommissar X films. His films have often been described as outstanding entertainment because of their ironic style and interesting characters. In 1992 he started working on a television series that had little success.
He worked frequently with a number of actors, some of whom were former stuntmen or circus acrobats ; among them Brad Harris , Tony Kendall and Nick Jordan .
Like many Italian film artists of the time, Parolini often used English names as pseudonyms. As a director he also became Frank Kramer , as an actor - he appeared in almost all of his films in smaller or larger supporting roles - Frank (or John Francis ) Littleword (s) or John Francis Scott , as screenwriter Robert F. Atkinson and John Eastwood mentioned in the credits .
In 2010 the film Frank il legionario was made about Parolini's work.
