We are the strongest (original title: Noi non siamo angeli ) is an Italian comedy film with Western elements by Gianfranco Parolini from 1975. The German-language premiere was on June 24, 1976.

action

Raphael McDonald is powerful and can strike accordingly; his rascal brother Angel keeps getting him into trouble that proves it. When Angel embezzles the money Raphael won in a boxing match, he uses it to go shopping and wants to take over the transport line from Highfalls City to the next railway line with him. Only when Raphael has to give up his work as a mechanic, because he lets Angel provoke him, he agrees. Arriving in Highfalls, they come into conflict with the city boss Shark, who for personal interests wants to keep all progress away from the city. But all attempts to dissuade the brothers from their business fail because of Raphael's clout and Angel's shrewdness. Finally, tired of the argument, the government orders a race between the carriages of one party and cars of the other. The brothers not only win the race and thus the concession for the transport business, but also discover an oil field that belongs to an old man who is their friend, Professor Berberg.

background

It is one of five films in which Antonio Cantafora and Paul L. Smith appear as the doppelgangers of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer . In the German dubbing, in contrast to the original, they are called "Toby" (Cantafora, spokesman Hartmut Reck ) and "Butch" (Smith, spokesman Wolfgang Hess ).

A single of the soundtrack was released by Fida Records (FR 1).

reception

While the lexicon of international films considers the film to be “rough, flat slapstick with Western influences”, the Segnalazioni Cinematografiche judged that the story based on a badly mislabeled “Trinità” stamp consists of childish quarrels, incessant fights, acrobatic jokes and dialogues that are not suitable for children, although they are apparently the target group.
