Mario Carotenuto

Mario Carotenuto (born June 29, 1915 in Rome , † April 14, 1995 there ) was an Italian actor .

Life

The son of the silent film actor Nello Carotenuto spent his youth, which was not always problem-free, like his brother Memmo in reform schools . He made his stage debut at the age of 8 at the Teatro Costanzi , but began his own career only after various livelihoods, including a. as a meat seller. In the 1940s he was hired as a radio actor and in 1953 founded his own acting company.

From 1951 Carotenuto - after two extras - was also seen in almost one hundred and seventy films, most of them comedies , in which he often adopted the type of the arrogant industrialist and conceited city dweller. He has spent most of his career in B-films . In 1972 he received the Nastro d'Argento for his performance in Teuflisches Spiel .

After his death from cancer, Carotenuto was buried in the family crypt.
