Elisabeth Droste zu Senden († September 17, 1613 in Nottuln ) was the abbess of Nottuln Abbey.

Life

Origin and family

As the daughter of Joachim Droste zu Senden and Mentha von Billerbeck and Egelborg, Elisabeth Droste zu Senden came from an ancient Westphalian noble family .

Career and work

On February 18, 1581, Elisabeth Stiftsjungfer was listed in the fifth place in the chapter seven years later . Her election as abbess fell on June 4, 1588 and on November 16, 1590, the electoral surrender was read out in the cathedral chapter . Elisabeth had made it a condition that if there was no rental income due to armed attacks, the obligation to pay 300 Reichstalers would no longer apply. She belonged to the Billerbecker Kaland . The purpose of this association was to promote good works and on September 23, 1609, she received 25 Reichstaler for Elisabeth's Memorie .

In her will of April 27, 1598, she considered many poor people.
