Elisabeth Ebert
Elisabeth Ebert , actually Elisabeth Dubsky (born September 6, 1928 in Dresden ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ), especially in the vocal subjects of lyrical soprano and soubrette .
Life
She received her training at the Dresden Music Academy and from the teacher Vera Littner. She made her debut in 1950 at the Saxon State Theater in Radebeul as Ännchen in Der Freischütz .
In 1952 she moved to the Stadttheater Plauen , where she became known as Mimi in La Bohème . In the same role she made her debut in 1956 at the Dresden State Opera , to whose ensemble she belonged until 1961. In 1961 she became a member of the Komische Oper in Berlin, where she had been a regular guest since 1959.
She appeared as a guest at the opera houses of Leningrad and Brno and in 1965 as Rosina in The Barber of Seville at the Royal Stockholm Opera and in 1972 at the Berlin State Opera . Other characters portrayed by Ebert were Pamina in The Magic Flute , Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni , the title characters in Deidamia and Jenůfa and Tytania in A Midsummer Night's Dream . She also took part in operettas , for example as Julia in Der Vetter aus Dingsda .
