Elisabeth Hauer

Elisabeth Hauer (born June 12, 1928 in Vienna ; † January 23, 2012 ) was an Austrian writer.

Elisabeth Hauer studied German and Romance languages at the University of Vienna and received her doctorate in 1951. phil. Then she worked as a foreign language correspondent. From 1979 to 1981 she was a member of the editorial team of the journal Literature and Criticism . Elisabeth Hauer lived as a freelance writer from 1981. Honored with the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Federal State of Lower Austria and various prizes for her work , she died a few days before the publication of her last book "Franz Speaks". Her books have been translated into six languages, including Turkish and Georgian.
