Elisabeth Louise Juliane of Pfalz-Zweibrücken

Elisabeth Louise Juliane von Pfalz-Zweibrücken (born July 16, 1613 in Heidelberg ; † March 29, 1667 in Herford ) was a titular Countess Palatine of Zweibrücken and from 1649 until her death as Elisabeth II. Abbess of the Herford Monastery, which was directly under the Empire .

Life

Elisabeth Luise Juliane was the eldest child of Duke and Count Palatine Johann II of Zweibrücken (1584–1635) from his second marriage to Luise Juliane (1594–1640), daughter of Elector Friedrich IV of the Palatinate .

With the support of the Brandenburg Elector Friedrich Wilhelm , she was elected abbess of the reformed Herford Monastery on July 18, 1649 , after her predecessor Sidonia von Oldenburg left office due to her marriage.

Elisabeth Louise Juliane died in office in 1667 and was buried in Herford. Her successor was her cousin and coadjutor Elisabeth von der Pfalz .
