Elisabeth Neier

Elisabeth Neier (born March 8, 1953 in Dornbirn ) is a doctor and director of the hospital in Ngaoubela ( Hôpital Protestant Ngaoubela ), Cameroon .

Elisabeth Neier studied at the Innsbruck University Medicine, completed its cycle at the State Hospital Feldkirch , State Hospital Rankweil and in the sanatorium Mehrerau and tropical medicine training in Basel . She completed her first assignment in northern Cameroon with Doctors Without Borders in a refugee camp to provide medical care to refugees from Chad in Poli-Faro . Neier has been working at Ngaoubela Hospital since 1989 .

In 2001 Elisabeth Neier was awarded the Toni Russ Prize , since 2007 she has been the recipient of the Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria , the Silver Medal of Honor of the State of Vorarlberg, and in 2003 Neier was awarded the highest Order of Merit in the Republic of Cameroon.
