Elisabeth of Yugoslavia ( Cyrillic  Њ.К.В. Кнегиња Јелисавета Карађорђевић ; born April 7, 1936 in Belgrade , Kingdom of Yugoslavia ) comes from the former ruling royal house of Karađorđević . She is a former princess and the daughter of Prince Regent Paul of Yugoslavia and Olga of Greece .

Princess Elisabeth was born on April 7, 1936 in Belgrade as the daughter of the Prince Regent Paul. She began her training in South Africa and continued in Great Britain and Switzerland . In addition to her Serbian mother tongue, she also speaks English , French , Spanish and Italian . Today she lives in Belgrade again. Elisabeth is not only a Serbian citizen, she also has a US passport.

On January 19, 1961, she married the American textile manufacturer Howard Oxenberg (1919-2010). From this marriage came two daughters, the American actress Catherine Oxenberg (* 1961) and Christina (* 1962). The marriage ended in divorce in 1966. In her second marriage on September 23, 1969, she lived with the British politician and later MEP Neil Balfour (* 1944). From this marriage son Nicholas (* 1970) was born. The marriage broke up due to Elisabeth's liaison with actor Richard Burton and divorced in 1978. Her third marriage was on February 28, 1987 with the former Peruvian Prime Minister Manuel Ulloa Elías (1922-1992). At the end of 1990 she founded the Princess Elizabeth Foundation, which supports children from war zones. In the 2004 presidential elections in Serbia, she decided to run and came in sixth place with 63,991 votes. Even before that, she helped shape the policy of coexistence between the peoples of the former Yugoslavia until the civil war put an end to it. She also advocates the abolition of nuclear weapons and was awarded the Nuclear Disarmament Forum Award for her commitment. Elisabeth sells her own perfume brand and is the author of four children's books so far.
