Elisheva Michaeli ( Hebrew אלישבע מיכאלי; * June 17, 1928 in Israel ; † January 2, 2009 ) was an Israeli actress .

Life

Elisheva Michaeli grew up in Tel Aviv-Jaffa . At the age of 18 she married Moshe Michaeli, who died during the Palestine War. At the age of 19, she was a war widow with a five-month-old baby . From 1955 she played theater and made her debut in 1954 in Aryeh Lahola's drama Even Al Kol Meel . Although she increasingly had smaller film roles, Michaeli established herself mainly on the stage and played almost exclusively theater. So she played for many years in Haifa and shortly before she left Israel in 1998 in Tel Aviv. From 1998 she lived in Florida, from 2002 in Vienna and then again in Israel, near Ir haKarmel . In 2003 she had her greatest success with her portrayal in Amit Lior's drama Sipuray Bate Kafe ' , when she was nominated for the Israeli film prize, the Ophir Award , for best leading actress .

Michaeli died on January 2, 2009 as a result of her ovarian cancer .
