action

The musical takes place in 1978. The young chemist David works in the GDR industrial city of Bitterfeld . He lives for science and wants to find the formula for eternal youth. He does not notice how his friend Hagen is betraying him. David falls in love with the dancer Betti. Hagen is also interested in Betti, but she raves about David's intelligence and independence. With his search for the youth elixir, David would like to make Betti's beauty everlasting. He wants to try the remedy together with Betti. But the test fails, her problems get out of hand, and finally the two lose sight of each other.

Twenty years later, a lot has changed in the city. Clever Hagen is the boss of a chemical company, David is one of his employees. Suddenly a young Betti appears, and the amorous magic of 1978 comes back to life. But Betti disappears as quickly as she came, and David sinks into nostalgic memories. Hagen also noticed Betti and is electrified: Did the elixir work at the time? Will Betti David be forgiven - or will she choose Hagen?

After forty sold-out performances in Leipzig in 1998, the musical was successfully performed at the Dresden Comedy in 2008 .

CD publications are available from both performances in Leipzig and Dresden .
