Laurie Elizabeth Guess (born January 11, 1985 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American football player .
Career
Between 2008 and 2012 Guess played intermittently for the second-rate teams SoccerPlus Connecticut and the Atlanta Silverbacks in the WPSL and W-League respectively . In the 2012/13 season of the BeNe League she ran for ADO Den Haag and came on September 27, 2012 against FK Rossijanka for a use in the 1st round of the Champions League .
At the beginning of 2013 she was hired as a so-called Discovery Player by the Boston Breakers for the newly founded NWSL . She made her league debut on April 14, 2013 against Washington Spirit . In April her contract was canceled by Boston, but she signed just a few days later with the league competitor from Portland. With her first engagement for her new team on April 27, 2013, she became the first player in the still young history of the NWSL, which had accumulated for two different franchises .
In early January 2014, Guess was released from Portland along with goalkeeper Addie Gay and subsequently returned to the Atlanta Silverbacks.
