Elke Pollack
Elke Pollack (* 1960 in Stalinstadt ) is a German painter and graphic artist .
Live and act
From 1973 to 1978 Elke Pollack attended the special school for music in Dresden. In 1978 she began studying violin at the Dresden University of Music, which she completed in 1983. From 1983 to 1989 she played in the Rostock Philharmonic Orchestra .
In 1990 Elke Pollack began her career as a painter. From 1990 to 1995 she studied painting at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art . The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung calls her "an artistic dual talent" because of her artistic work in music and painting. Pollack made her diploma with the painter Professor Dieter Goltzsche . She has been a freelance artist since 1996.
Elke Pollack is counted at the Berlin school . She is one of the most important students of Dieter Goltzsche. Her works are shown in exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland and France.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung called her a “talent in the tradition of the Berlin School, which focused on objectivity and the reduction of form to artistic generalization .” According to New Germany , Pollack has “her style full of obstinacy and skepticism, a bit of arrogance and self-irony " found. “It is a tremendous pleasure to look at your pictures. The idea of irony enables them to accept the automatic emergence and the accidental with its surprising consequences. "
Pollack has a son and lives in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg.

- 1999 3rd prize in the artist competition Artists see Marzahn
- 1998 Picture acquisition by the German Bundestag
- 1998 Scholarship from the Käthe Dorsch Foundation as well as the working scholarship from the Kulturfonds Berlin Foundation in the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop
- In 1997 she received a scholarship from the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen at the Künstlerhaus Willingshausen in Hessen
