treffpunkteuropa is a political online magazine that deals with European politics. The magazine is funded by the Young European Federalists .

The magazine was founded in spring 2009 . A print edition called treffpunkt.europa was also published by the end of 2015, which was then discontinued in favor of the online magazine. Treffpunkteuropa is a partner of the online platform EurActiv .

The articles appear in up to seven languages ​​on the partner platforms. While treffpunkteuropa.de covers the German-speaking area, thenewfederalist.eu , elnuevofederalista.eu , taurillon.org , eurobull.it , Kurier Europejski and euro-journal.nl each cover the English , Spanish , French , Italian , Polish and Dutch- speaking areas.

treffpunkteuropa.de deals with European policy content. Numerous interviews with European politicians such as Martin Sonneborn , Julia Reda and Gregor Gysi appear on the platform . An analysis of the party political mood, the europeanmeter, is published monthly for all of Europe on the basis of the European parliamentary groups . The results are based on the results of national representative surveys of all EU28 countries.

What is special is the translation of the foreign-language articles in the partner magazines and the "European Perspective" format, in which young Europeans from several countries gather their opinions on a topic.

Awards

In 2012, treffpunkteuropa received the European Citizens' Prize from the European Parliament . The reason stated: "The online magazine treffpunkteuropa.de contributes to the creation of a well-informed European public with its highly topical analyzes and politically balanced articles ."

In 2014, the Europa-Union Deutschland awarded the editorial team of the online magazine the Europa-Lily for European youth work.

In 2016, the European Parliament awarded treffpunkteuropa.de second place in the race for Germany's contribution to the Charlemagne Youth Prize , and in 2019 the project made it onto the shortlist again. In the same year, a contribution by editor-in-chief Marie Menke was nominated for the Franco-German Journalism Prize.
