Ellen Ehni [ eː'niː ] (born August 1, 1973 in Heidelberg ) is a German journalist , lawyer and television presenter . At Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) she is television editor-in-chief and heads the politics and current affairs program area.

Career

Ehni studied German and French law at the Universities of Cologne , Paris and at the Humboldt University in Berlin , where she passed the state examination in law. After a traineeship at Norddeutscher Rundfunk , she worked there as a journalist. She was an editor at NDR aktuell and a reporter for the news programs Tagesschau and Tagesthemen .

Ehni joined WDR in 2004 as an editor of the business and law program group and worked for the programs Markt , Plusminus and ARD Ratgeber Recht . She also moderated the latter, as well as, as a representative, the ARD morning magazine . In 2007 she moved to Studio Paris as an ARD correspondent for five years. She has headed the Economics and Law program group since 2012.
