Elliot Humberto Kavee
Elliot Humberto Kavee is an American jazz - drummer and - cellist , composer and actor .
Kavee is a member of various bands; so he is next to the pianist Vijay Iyer and the saxophonist Aaron Stewart Coleader of the group Fieldwork . With Omar Sosa's band he went on a six-year world tour and recorded four albums. With saxophonist Francis Wong , he recorded more than a dozen albums that received multiple Grammy nominations.
He is also a member of Rudresh Mahanthappa's Quartet, Henry Threadgills Zooid , the Frame group (with Eric Crystal , Dave Macnab and Hillel Familant ) and the Club Foot Orchestra and has worked as a sideman a. a. with Joseph Jarman , Steve Coleman , Don Cherry , Cecil Taylor , Ben Goldberg , John Tchicai , Glenn Horiuchi , Elliott Sharp , Tim Berne and Jon Jang . Since 1995 he has released a number of albums as a band leader, all of which appeared on the Eliasound label .
Kavee was also an actor, composer, writer and musical director with the San Francisco Mime Troupe ; he received the Drama-Logue Award here . He also composed film, television and drama music.
