Elliot Sperling

Elliot Sperling (born January 4, 1951 in New York City , † January 29, 2017 ) was an American historian , associate professor of Central Eurasian Studies at Indiana University and a specialist in Sino - Tibetan relations. In 1973 he received his BA from Queens College , 1980 his MA and 1983 his Ph.D. in Central Eurasian Studies from Indiana University.
In 1984 he was a MacArthur Fellow .
