Elise (Elly) Caroline Luise Auguste Allesch (née Reuss; born July 1, 1853 in Bernburg , † April 3, 1944 in Goslar ) was a German writer . She also published under the pseudonym E. Relly .

Life

Elise Allesch was born as the fifth child of the forest and government councilor Louis Reuss and Karoline, nee. Brocke, born. In 1857 she moved with her parents to Wittgenstein Castle as a child and received her education in a private school in the city of Laasphe . The family maintained regular contacts with the princely family Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein at Wittgenstein Castle. Elise Reuss took the first name Elly in her childhood in Wittgenstein, because she was called by Princess Ida zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein (1837-1922).

From 1872 the family lived in Dobříš near Prague . Here Allesch, who had already written poems and stories as a child, began to write for print from 1875. During her visits to nearby Prague, she met the writer and botanist Heinrich Moritz Willkomm , who encouraged her literary talent. In 1881 Allesch married the master builder Hans Allesch, whom she had to give to a sanatorium in 1896 because of an "incurable headache", where he died before 1898. Allesch moved to Goslar with her three daughters in 1896.
