Elmar Schneider

Elmar Schneider (born March 31, 1945 , † February 8, 2003 in Siegen - Weidenau ) was a North Rhine-Westphalian politician ( CDU ).

Schneider was mayor of the community of Wilnsdorf from 1977 , replacing his predecessor Wilhelm Moos, who was the first mayor of the new large community. Elmar Schneider kept the office until the municipal dual leadership was abolished in 1997 and handed over the post of mayor to Karl Schmidt, who had been the municipal director since 1969 .

On September 12, 1999 Schneider was elected district administrator for the Siegen-Wittgenstein district. He kept this post until his death. Schneider died on February 8, 2003 after a serious illness in the Siegen district hospital . He was married and had three children.
