Hilmar Selle

Hilmar Selle (born December 6, 1933 in Enschede ; † October 28, 2007 in Kreuztal ) was a German politician, member of the state parliament and district administrator ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator and then worked as a technical auditor. A job as a union secretary at the German trade union federation , district office Siegen until 1964 was followed by a job as a self-employed insurance salesman and from 1985 a job as managing director in Kreuztal .

Selle had been a member of the SPD since 1953. He was active in various party committees, so u. a. in the state board and as federal chairman in the working group of the self-employed in the SPD. From 1975 to 1980 Selle was mayor of the city of Kreuztal.

MP

From January 12, 1976 to May 29, 1985 Selle was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . In the 8th electoral term he moved on January 12, 1976 from the state list. In the 9th electoral term he was directly elected in constituency 145 Siegen II.

The council of the community he belonged to Kreuztal 1961-1968. From 1969 he was a council member of the city of Kreuztal. From April 23, 1964 until the regional reform on December 31, 1974, Selle was a member of the district council of the Siegen district . He was a member of the district council of the newly formed Siegen-Wittgenstein district from 1975 to August 12, 1985.

From 1970 to 1976 he was a member of the landscape assembly of the regional association Westphalia-Lippe .

Public offices

From 1964 until the regional reform in 1968 he was mayor of the Kreuztal municipality and the Ferndorf office. From 1975 until 1981 he was mayor of the city of Kreuztal. From October 19, 1984 to November 9, 1984 he was district administrator for the Siegen-Wittgenstein district.

Flick affair

After it became known in the course of the Flick affair that he had received a total of 110,000 DM from the Flick Group in several tranches and even asked for missing money, Selle resigned as district administrator after only three weeks.

Awards

On October 13, 1980, Selle was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. In 1986 he received the Ring of Honor of the City of Kreuztal and on January 29, 1990 the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.
