Elmer Citro

Elmer Citro is a Swiss lemonade with a lemon flavor . It is based on the practically nitrate-free mineral water from the two 1200  m high Gstögg and Kapuziner springs near Elm , Canton Glarus . It was created in 1927 by Oskar Schärli, the owner of what was then the Kurhaus in Elm. Neither the name nor the recipe have been changed since then.

The mineral spring belongs to "Mineralquellen Elm AG", a stock corporation founded in 1929 under the name "Elmag Glarus Mineralquellen Elm" . This also sells mineral water under the Elmer Mineral brand .

In 1971 the “Elmag Glarus Mineralquellen Elm” became the property of the Haldengut brewery and was renamed “Mineralquellen Elm AG”. After the Feldschlösschen brewery had already acquired a stake in "Mineralquellen Elm AG" in 1973, it took over this completely in 1983.

In 1999 Feldschlösschen sold "Mineralquellen Elm AG" to Pomdor AG, which belongs to the Fenaco group. In 2002 the mineral water marketed under the name Fontessa Elm since 1973 was renamed again to Elmer Mineral . With the merger between Pomdor AG and Granador AG in 2005 to form Unidrink AG (today Ramseier Suisse AG ), the Elmer brand is now one of the three main brands of Ramseier Suisse.
