The Elsa-Brändström-Straße is a street in the Berlin district of Pankow the same Pankow . It runs between Berliner Straße and Prenzlauer Promenade , a section of Bundesstraße 109 .
The street was laid out in 1910 as a linden promenade . On March 27, 1936, she was given the name Elsa Brändström , a philanthropist who, as the Swedish Red Cross sister , had saved the lives of many German prisoners of war in Russia during World War I. An application for renaming was not complied with in 1952.
The most important historical building is the Church of Hope of the Evangelical Congregation, completed in 1913 . Along the street are various listed residential complexes , which were built from 1926 to 1932 by the architect Erich Glas , among others , as well as the parsonage of the Hope Church, completed in 1913 .
