Elsa-Marianne von Rosen (born April 21, 1924 in Stockholm , Sweden , † September 7, 2014 in Copenhagen , Denmark ) was a Swedish ballet dancer , choreographer and actress .

Life

Rosen, the daughter of the nobleman Reinhold von Rosen and his first wife Elisabeth Österyd, was active throughout Scandinavia . Her active career began in 1939 and ended in 1970. In 1984 she received the Royal Medal of Merit Litteris et artibus. The Swede has directed ballet productions in Monaco , the United States , the United Kingdom and Russia . From 1970 to 1976 she was the head of the ballet ensemble in the Stora teatern in Gothenburg and from 1980 to 1987 she headed the Malmöbaletten in Malmö .

In 1950 she married the editor Allan Fridericia (1921–1991). The couple moved to Denmark shortly after they got married . Elsa-Marianne von Rosen died of natural causes on September 7, 2014 at the age of 90 in Copenhagen.
