geography

course

The Elsbach is a brook in the Vorderen Odenwald in the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park . Its source is in a wooded area on the western edge of the open field around Ober-Beerbach . It flows in a westerly direction through its forest valley and crosses the two “fairytale ponds” with a wooden shelter. Immediately behind the “fairytale ponds” the Elsbach flows past the “NABU project pond”.

Upon reaching Ober-Beerbacher Straße (K 143), the stream takes on a flowing water from the right and northeast, which is marked as the actual Elsbach upper reaches in official topographical maps. Following the county road, the brook crosses it at the entrance to Seeheim , which it then passes through, crossing the Alte Bergstrasse . From the western outskirts of Seeheim, the stream flows in a south-westerly direction and crosses the forest pond in a subsequent forest, where it also crosses the L 3106. On the north-western edge of Jugenheim , the Elsbach finally flows into the Landbach from the right and north.
