Parent Akay

Elter Akay (born June 15, 1940 in Bursa , Turkey ) was a Turkish champion in the shot put and is a volleyball trainer in Hamburg .

At a young age, Akay was the Turkish shot put champion for over three years. At the age of 23 he came to Germany as a guest worker from Ankara . Since 1967 he has been a volunteer coach at Walddörfer SV, preferably for volleyball . Because of his youth work , he received the “ Medal for Faithful Work in the Service of the People ” and other awards from the Hamburg Senate on November 4, 2002 .
