Elvira Cervera

Elvira "Tita" Cervera Batte (born January 4, 1923 in Sagua la Grande , † March 27, 2013 in Havana ) was a Cuban actress . She has appeared in film, television, and radio.

In addition to her job as an actress, she also worked as an acting teacher and had a PhD in education in 1976.

In 2008 the opposition organization Arco Progresista awarded her the Premio Tolerancia Plus for her commitment against racism and for integration . Above all, her longstanding advocacy for greater visibility of Afro-Cubans in the country's audiovisual media was recognized.
