Elyes Ghariani (born June 2, 1958 ) is a Tunisian diplomat .

Life

He was trained at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow , the Institut Bourguiba des Langues Vivantes Tunis and the Institut universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva . In 1982 he joined the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Assignments abroad led him to work as a secretary at the Tunisian embassy in Bonn in Germany and at the Tunisian office at the European Union in Brussels . From September 2008 to November 2009 he was Director for the European Union of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On September 2, 2011, he became the Tunisian ambassador to Germany and held the post until August 2014. From October 2014, he was Director General of the Tunisian Foreign Ministry. On November 30, 2016, he became the Tunisian ambassador to the Netherlands .

In addition to Arabic , he also speaks German , English , French and Russian .
