Emanuele Birarelli (born February 8, 1981 in Senigallia ) is an Italian volleyball player .

Career

Birarelli began his career in 1995 in the offspring of Pallavolo Falconara and joined the club's first division team in 1998. After he had played for third division Corbordolo Artic Morciola in 1999/2000 , he returned to Falconara, which was initially in the second division for a year. With the Italian juniors, the middle blocker became vice European champion in 2000. After a season with Sira Cucine Ancona, he paused from 2003 to 2005. He then continued his career with the second division Mercatone Uno Pineto and was active in 2006/07 with the first division Marmi Lanza Verona . In 2007 Birarelli was signed by his current club, Itas Diatec Trentino , with whom he became Italian champion in the first season. He also made his debut in the senior national team in 2008 . He took part in the Olympic tournament in Beijing , which ended in fourth place for Italy. In 2009 Birarelli won the Champions League with Trentino . In the following year, the club managed to win the national cup and defend its title in the Champions League . In 2011 Trentino became Italian champions again and achieved the third Champions League victory in a row. With the national team Birarelli reached the final of the European Championship . In 2012 he was again Italian cup winner. With Italy he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in London .
