Emanuele Ottolenghi

Emanuele Ottolenghi (* 1969 in Bologna ) is an Italian political scientist and journalist .

Career

After graduating from the University of Bologna with a degree in political science, he received his doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1998 following a dissertation on “A matter of Conflict. The Place of Judicial Review in a Democracy "for Doctor of Philosophy. He then taught Israeli law, politics and society as Leone Ginzburg Senior Fellow in Israel Studies at Oxford Center for Hebrew and Jewish Studies and the Middle East Center of St Antony's College of Oxford University . From 2006 to 2010 he was Managing Director of the AJC Transatlantic Institute in Brussels.

Ottolenghi's research focuses on Israeli domestic policy, constitutional and electoral law issues as well as Italian foreign policy and the Middle East conflict . On these topics he presented articles in scientific compilations.

In addition to his academic work, he regularly writes commentaries on Israeli domestic politics, the Israeli-Arab conflict and European Middle East politics for international media such as Newsday, Commentary , National Review Online, Middle East Quarterly , Jewish Chronicle, The Guardian , The Daily Mirror , Die Welt , Il Corriere del Ticino, L'Unità , Il Foglio, Libero and Il Reformista . He has a column for UK monthly Standpoint and is a regular contributor to Contentions , Commentary Magazine's blog . Ottolenghi is considered a neoconservative commentator on Israeli politics and the Middle East conflict.
