Embalse is a town on the Río Tercero reservoir in the Calamuchita department in the southern province of Córdoba in central Argentina . Together with its suburbs Villa del Dique and Villa Rumipal, it has around 10,000 inhabitants and is a well-known holiday center.
The Embalse nuclear power plant with a CANDU reactor (type 6) is located in Embalse . This is the most powerful nuclear power plant in Argentina to date.

Embalse was one of the venues for the 2015 Fistball World Cup .
