Emell Gok Che

Emell Gök Che (born December 16, 1982 in Paderborn ; real name: Emel Gökçe ) is a German artist , interior / product designer and TV presenter with Turkish roots. She lives and works in Paderborn, Berlin and Istanbul and is known for furnishing concepts for private and commercial spaces with the embedding of art. 

Life

Emell Gök Che, the daughter of a master tailor and an upholsterer seamstress, was influenced by her parents' professions and began making clothes as a child. At the age of 17 she presented her first public fashion show at KL5 in Paderborn. At the same time, the first furniture designs were created. 

After graduating from Reismann-Gymnasium Paderborn , Emell Gök Che studied art, design and education at the University of Paderborn with Dorothea Reese-Heim, among others, and passed a state examination. During her studies she worked as a fitness trainer, choreographer, presenter and photographer.

Gök Che also volunteers as an educational ambassador for integration and education, is the founder and creative head of the art & design studio Artemell and the video platform Art n Talk. She is also a juror at the international art platform “it's liquid”. She has worked as an expert and presenter for home TV programs on German television.

Works

The works of Emell Gök Che can be grouped into the areas of drawing / painting, installations and design. Her work is characterized by a pronounced variety of materials and an expressive style. She mainly paints with lacquer or draws with charcoal or ink. In her installations, materials from the consumer world come together with materials from the construction sector and create a new world between exaggerated reality and shell construction. The focus of her work is the individual in society. Appearance and being, truth and reality, values ​​and norms, clichés and individualization are embedded in it. As a designer, she designs interiors, clothing and furniture.

Emell Gök Che designs room concepts for apartments, houses, restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels, spas, offices and shops.

Emell Gök Che made his first steps as a presenter in the Radical Playground format on YouTube, which she helped design. In it she receives bands on her playground and interviews them. Other moderator jobs followed in the event area.

In 2011, Emell Gök Che was seen on German television as a designer and teacher alongside Boris Becker in the format Boris Makes School on Kabel 1. A Berlin school is being renovated together with its students and a construction team. She also worked for two seasons as an interior designer and specialist for creative solutions for small to large budgets in the format Die Einrichters on VOX. In between, she was seen as a juror on the program "Family Stories" on RTL2.
