The Emerald Nunatak is a 1250  m high nunatak in the northeast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . On the west side of the Douglas Range, it rises near the head of the Hampton Glacier .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1977 following surveys carried out by the British Antarctic Survey between 1973 and 1977. It is named after the emerald green rock from which the nunatak is made.
