Emi Kawabata ( Japanese川端 絵 美Kawabata Emi , born February 13, 1970 in Sapporo , Hokkaidō ) is a former Japanese ski racer .

In 1993 in St. Anton am Arlberg she achieved a 3rd place in the sprint descent ( descent in two runs) behind the two Austrians Anja Haas and Renate Götschl as the best World Cup result .

She achieved a remarkable result at the 1989 World Ski Championships in Vail in the downhill with a 5th place. She ended her career in 1994.
