He had to his playing days as one of the best players in the world and has worked with Ninjas in Pajamas and SK Gaming several e-Sport won world championships. Christensen then became General Manager of Stockholm Magnetik , one of the franchise teams in the Championship Gaming Series . Over time, his person has developed into a real cult status .

Career

In 1999 Emil "HeatoN" Christensen founded the Clan Ninjas in Pajamas together with Tommy "Potti" Ingemarsson. In 2000 and 2001, the Swedish Counter-Strike players finished in first place at the CPL Dallas Babbages, the CPL London, the CPL Berlin and the CPL World Championship in Dallas, making them number one worldwide.

In mid-2002, most of NiP, including Christensen, moved to SK Gaming. After the Norwegian Ola “elemeNt” Moum was signed in 2003 , SK could not be beaten by anyone until the end of the year: The team came first at the CPL Summer, CPL Winter and the World Cyber Games. After Moums left in 2004, SK struggled to maintain their position as the strongest team in the world. Due to the poor results towards the end of the year, there was a break with the management of SK Gaming; the contracts were not renewed.

As a result, the Clan Ninjas in Pajamas was reopened by Christensen and his four SK teammates in January 2005. At first, however, he could not live up to the high expectations. In the middle of the year all players except Christensen left NiP after an argument. Christensen had to put together a new squad and largely relied on rather unknown players. With these ninjas in pajamas in the third season of the World e-Sports Games and fourth at the CPL Winter.

In mid-2006 Christensen paused his career for half a year. When he returned to the active scene at the beginning of 2007, another major restructuring was necessary at NiP. Since then, however, the clan has not been able to celebrate any significant successes. September 2007 it was announced that Christensen is retiring from his playing career to become General Manager of the Championship Gaming Series. Shortly thereafter, the clan of Ninjas in Pajamas was disbanded.

After two seasons in which Stockholm Magnetik , headed by Christensen, did not have any particular successes, those responsible announced the end of the large-scale TV league in November 2008 because the audience numbers fell short of expectations.

With the first tournaments in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , the ninjas in pajamas returned to the esports stage in 2012. HeatoN made himself available to the Swedish organization as a manager. Under his leadership, the clan's marketing flourished . In addition to the usual fan items such as jerseys or mouse pads, the organization has been bringing unusual products with their logos onto the market since then. At the end of 2013, for example, the so-called McNiP burger was available in Swedish restaurants of the McDonald’s fast food chain . HeatoN usually presents the new products on its Facebook or Twitter account.

In the fall of 2015, Christensen was sentenced to 40 daily fines on charges of tax evasion.
