Emil Köster

Emil Köster (born February 21, 1871 in Hamburg , † July 23, 1945 in Berlin ) was a German politician (economic party).

After attending secondary school in Altona, which he left in 1887 with the secondary school leaving certificate, Köster learned the wine-making trade . He then worked for several years as a cellar master in various companies before he took over his father's inn in Altona in 1896. In 1903 Köster became a city councilor in Altona. In 1906 he became a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Provincial Parliament .

In 1910, Köster founded the Altonaer landowners bank, which he headed as director until July 1, 1922. He then took over the presidency of the German Innkeepers Association in Berlin.

During the Weimar Republic , Köster was involved in the Reich Party of German Medium-Sized Enterprises (Economic Party ). In the Reichstag election of May 1928 he entered the Reichstag for his party , to which he - re-elected twice in September 1930 and July 1932 - belonged until November 1932 on the Reich election proposal. In addition, Köster was chairman of the Provincial Association of Schleswig-Holstein House and Landowners and Chairman of the Provincial Association of Schleswig-Holstein Innkeepers' Associations for ten years.
