Emil Kautz

Emil Gotthart Hermann Kautz (born March 13, 1866 in Hohenstein , East Prussia , † May 7, 1933 in Alsbach ) was a German administrative and ministerial official and bank manager.

Life

Emil Kautz studied at the University of Königsberg law . In 1887 he became a member of the Corps Normannia Königsberg . After completing his studies and doctorate, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1902 to 1905 he was district administrator of the Johannisburg district . On April 1, 1905, he moved to the Prussian Central Cooperative Fund in Berlin. He became its director and head of the Reichs-loan fund. As a result, he became a secret finance councilor and in 1919 a ministerial director in the Reich Treasury. In 1920 he was one of the successor candidates to Carl Heiligenstadt as President of the Prussian Central Cooperative Fund. After the Reich Ministry of Treasury was incorporated into the Reich Ministry of Finance, he moved to the board of directors of the Barmat Group and was involved in the Barmat scandal at the turn of the year 1924/1925 . Most recently he was General Manager of Banque Agricole, Constantinople.
