Carl Heiligenstadt

Carl Heiligenstadt (born October 8, 1860 in Geestemünde ; † June 5, 1920 ) was a bank director and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Heiligenstadt studied political science and agriculture at the universities of Leipzig , Berlin and Heidelberg . Before his university studies he practically learned agriculture and after completing his university studies he worked in banking for several years. On April 1, 1894, he was appointed to the Reichsbank as an unskilled worker to deal with statistical and economic issues, and on October 1, 1895 to the directorate of the Prussian Central-Genossenschaftkasse as a member. In addition to other small works in Conrad's and Schmoller's yearbooks, Heiligenstadt published a number of larger articles on banking and banking policy and the trade balance, as well as Die Preußische Central-Genossenschaftskasse, Jena in 1897 .

From 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Magdeburg 6 Wanzleben and the National Liberal Party . He resigned his mandate on July 5, 1900.

Carl Heiligenstadt died in Berlin in 1920 at the age of 59 and was buried in the local St. Hedwig's cemetery on Liesenstrasse . The tomb has not been preserved.
