Emigdio Marmolejo León (born August 5, 1878 in Santa Rosa Treinta, Municipio de Tlaltizapán, † May 22, 1939 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican farmer , activist and functionary .

Life

His parents were Francisca León and Gregorio Marmolejo. Emigdio Marmolejo León learned to read and write and became a seasonal worker in agriculture. From April 15, 1911 he participated in the Mexican Revolution on the side of Francisco Madero in Chietla, state of Puebla with Emiliano Zapata and Gabriel Tepepa. On May 6, 1911, he was involved in the occupation of the weaving mill fábrica de hilados y tejidos in Metepec.

From 13 to 20 May 1911 he participated in the capture of Cuautla, which was defended by the Quinto Regimiento de Caballería under General Eutiquio Munguía.
