Chilpancingo de los Bravo , often shortened to Chilpancingo , is the capital of the state of Guerrero in southern Mexico . The population is around 187,000.
history
Chilpancingo was founded on November 1, 1591. During the Mexican War of Independence , the Congress of Chilpancingo took place there in September 1813 , at which the demand for independence from Spain was recorded in writing for the first time.
