Gabaniza

The Gabaniza ( Ottoman قبانچه İA ḳabaniçe ) is an almost frack-shaped , precious fur-lined garment that was only worn by the Ottoman Sultan . In summer he wore the gabaniza lined with sable fur , in winter with a black fox fur lining. There was also the Gaban in Turkey (غبین / ġabin ), a felt raincoat.

Sable skins have been considered an exquisite treasure for over a thousand years. The best skins were delivered to the tsar by the peoples subject to Siberia, who gave them to foreign dignitaries as a " crown sable " as a gift. Another particularly sought-after fur was the silver fox; the darker the almost black hair, the more precious the fur was.

In the inventory of Kereke's Dóra Johann Christoph von Kindsberg from Constantinople it says:
