Octavio Klimek-Alcaráz

Octavio Adolfo Klimek-Alcaráz (born December 30, 1962 in Chilpancingo , Guerrero state ) is a Mexican forest scientist and politician of the Partido de la Revolución Democrática .

Life

He completed his biology degree at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Xochimilco in 1985. He traveled to Germany in 1987 and studied forest science at the Technical University of Dresden . Octavio Klimek-Alcaráz received his doctorate in natural sciences (Dr rer. Nat.) In 1994 with the dissertation analysis of the situation of nature conservation in Mexico with special consideration of the conservation of biodiversity and endemism .

Octavio Klimek-Alcaráz worked from 1995 to 2001 as a researcher and authorized signatory at the environmental protection agency (Procuraduría de Protección Ecológica) of the government of the state of Guerrero, and from April 2001 to November 2003 as Federal Commissioner of the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT).

He is a long-time member of the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD). During the 19th and 20th legislative periods he worked as an environmental advisor to the PRG parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies. From August 2008 to 2009 he was a member of the Guerrero State in the 60th legislative period in the Congress of the Union .
