Emil Reinhard

Emil Reinhard (born January 27, 1880 in Gondiswil ; † February 4, 1969 in Melchnau , legal resident in Kleindietwil ) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Emil Reinhard was born on January 27, 1880 in Gondiswil as the son of Johannes Reinhard and Maria, born Iff. Reinhard initially completed a commercial apprenticeship in Vevey before gaining experience in the textile trade in Basel , Langenthal and London .

As a result, Reinhard opened a cloth shop in Melchnau in 1904 . In 1925 he finally founded the coconut carpet weaving mill "Melchnau AG" , which was later renamed "Teppichfabrik Melchnau AG" . With the support of his two sons, Emil Reinhard was in charge of the carpet factory until old age. In 1986 the Melchnau AG carpet factory was taken over by what was then "Möbelstoffweberei Langenthal AG" . The two companies were merged in 1992 to form Lantal Textiles AG .

Emil Reinhard also got involved in Melchnau, financing the kindergarten in 1949 and the laying out hall in 1968, and in 1941 he co-founded the savings and loan fund.

Emil Reinhard married Maria Bertha, daughter of Gottlieb Kupferschmied, in 1905, and Emma Luise, daughter of Samuel Käser, in 1911. He died on February 4, 1969, one week after he had turned 89 in Melchnau.

Honor

  • In 1959 Emil Reinhard was made an honorary citizen in recognition of his services to the community of Melchnau .
