Emil von Wolff

Emil Wolff , from 1870 von Wolff , (born August 30, 1818 in Flensburg , † November 26, 1896 in Stuttgart ) was a German agricultural chemist and director of the Hohenheim Agricultural Academy.

Career

During his studies in Kiel he became a member of the Teutonia fraternity in Kiel . Wolff taught from 1847 under Ernst Theodor Stöckhardt in a private agricultural institute in Brösa and was the founding director of Germany's first agricultural research station in Leipzig-Möckern . He taught as a professor in Hohenheim from 1854 to 1894 and examined the nutrient content of feed and fertilizers.

Wolff was the first in 1870 with the Knight's Cross Class of the Order of the Württemberg Crown excellent, which with the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ) was associated. In 1881 he received the knight's cross crown.
